Being an animal lover has influenced many things in my life including making Fitglow a 100% CRUELTY FREE company and becoming LEAPING BUNNY CERTIFIED. So one day in my seach for all things cruelty free I stumbled across FTLA and fell in love not only with the super cute clothing but the amazing work that Kim is doing to save our furry friends from torture. Read below for more about Kim’s work and check out her store for some of the amazing creations which are filling my closet quickly.
🐾 About FTLA Apparel 💕
✔️ My name is Kim and I'm the Sole Owner, Designer & Operator of FTLA Apparel
✔️ I conceive & create all my own graphic designs from scratch and personally hand screen print every garment one by one on a per order basis. No outsourcing - from my heart and hands to your mailbox ❤️📬
✔️ I collaborate with various non-profit animal rescue/welfare organizations that I truly believe in and make monetary donations to help these causes by creating unique, custom designs for each organization that I then turn into a permanent "FTLA Apparel Collection" - donating a portion of every sale (not the profits, a portion of the cost you paid) back to the organizations.
✔️ The ultimate goal I've set for FTLA Apparel as well as personally, is to make a positive impact for as many animals as I possibly can while I'm on this earth, and hopefully long after I've left this world.
✔️The very first non-profit organization I collaborated with, shortly after I launched FTLA Apparel - For The Love of Animals Apparel, was the Beagle Freedom Project. I was introduced to Shannon by a mutual friend and after she and I chatted I began conceiving some new designs that would become one of the biggest FTLA Apparel Collections that benefits the Beagle Freedom Project. Jumping forward...
My next collaboration was with the Association for the Protection of FurBearing Animals, The FurBearer Defenders, to help raise awareness and money for their fight to end the commercial fur trade. That's when my #MakeFurHistory Collection was born.
I did my very first "on air" interview with Michael from FurBearers and I'm including the link to the interview below as well. I was a tad bit nervous but we discussed some important aspects of who I am, what FTLA Apparel is and how I got to where I am today.
My interview starts about 16 minutes and 30 seconds into the podcast.
✔️I've since added 2 new Collections, my Ahimsa Collection which benefits a local animal rescue shelter here in MA and of course Bonnie-Jill's organization, Hounds and Heroes which I just recently launched.
✔️I donate 15% of each sale from my various collections to the organization I created the collection for. It ends up being closer to 35-40% of the "profits" after I've factored in my overhead but it makes it easier for me to calculate the donation based on the actual cost a customer pays not including the shipping cost of course.
✔️ Last, but certainly not least, without the support from my amazing customers and my friends, I wouldn't be where I am today nor could I do any of this without you. I'm eternally grateful for each and every one of you!! 🙏💖
