Pause Beauty Boutique is a spa or for some of us a refuge in a busy city that caters to the unique, individual needs of each guest with an emphasis on total guest care , quality services and a strong support for local and Canadian product lines. No stuffiness or cold vibes just a pure, fun and attantive team that make you feel like you want to come back ..... everyday or at least every week. Founded in 2013, and located at 993 Bloor St W, the spa has developed a steady, loyal clientele of neighbouring residents in the Bloorcourt area of Toronto.

Pause Beauty was founded by Michelle Palmer in 2013. After more than 15 years in the beauty industry, Michelle saw the need for a spa with a strong focus on the guest experience. “There are many establishments that will provide you with a quick, efficient, cheap service”, says Michelle, “but many seem to have lost sight of the guest experience. Our goal is to give each guest an experience, rather than just a service. We want to build relationships with our guests ­ we value them and are grateful that they choose to spend not only their money, but their time with us.”

Pause specializes in a wide array of spa services including makeup applications, manicures, pedicures, waxing, threading, facials, body treatments, spray tanning, and registered massage therapy. Local/Canadian made products are featured in the retail section of the spa, and in the services themselves. The exclusive Glow Facial is just one example of the treatments offered. “our Glow Facial is one of our most popular facial services”, says Michelle. “It is a unique service, in that it is highly exfoliating and regenerating, but it’s super­relaxing at the same time” The Glow Facial begins with a consultation and customized aromatherapy selection, followed by a deep cleansing ritual. Hot towels are used throughout the facial, as opposed to steam. Skin is exfoliated with Fitglow’s Microscrub, providing a very gentle microdermabrasion­type effect. Pores are extracted as necessary, and Renew Mask is applied. While the mask is on, feet are wrapped in hot towels and massaged. The facial ends with a series of treatment serums and moisturizers, selected depending on your skin type.

Another very popular service at Pause is Makeup Applications. “I have a very talented team”, says Michelle, “Angie and Jamila are so creative, and Makeup was my first love in this industry, so I have a lot of fun with it. It also doesn’t hurt to be able to work with such an incredible makeup line” Michelle has been working closely with Fitglow ever since bringing it on board at Pause a year ago. “I was so skeptical about the idea of bringing in a makeup line. Partly because I hadn’t found a high­quality local line to support, and partly because I wasn’t sure our clientele would be that into it. But then I was introduced to Fitglow, and we honestly can’t keep it on the shelves ­ everyone loves it!”
